TOM'S LIFE

Tom Cruise was born on July 3, 1962 in Syracuse, New York. His real name is Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, which apparently is the name that is currently on his driver's license. When he was a child, his family moved around a lot due his father's job. Because of all the moving, Tom ended up studying in approximetely 15 different schools and never really got a chance to make a lot of friends. He had a reading disorder known as dislexia which made it hard for him to study at times. When he was only 12 years old, his parents divorced, leaving Tom with his mom and three sisters.

Tom always loved sports, in fact he played baseball in the little league and even joined the wrestling team in high school. He loved wrestling so much that he was seriously considering making the sport his career, but a serious knee injury kept him from doing so. Looking for other things to do, he joined the school's drama class and even took part in a school play titled Guys and Dolls. From then on, Tom was hooked. He knew that acting was for him, and was strongly convinced that becoming an actor is what he wanted to do with his life. To further persue his acting career, he dropped out of high school, left home and moved to New York city, where everything sort of all came to came together.

Today, he is one of the worlds greatest actors, starring in films like Born on The Fourth of July, Top Gun and on of my personnal favorites Few Good Men. He does a lot more than just act, he also produced Mission: Impossible and will also produce the upcoming sequel Mission: Impossible 2. He is happily married to Nicole kidman (Batman Forever, To Die for). When all said and done about this talented actor, we can be guaranteed that he will continue to use his incredible talent to make his mark in Hollywood for years to come.
